You might wonder that why many elderly people use the toilet more than you do, it is basically due to an over active bladder. This simple means that the urge to urinate increases even if the urinary bladder is not completely filled and it this urge becomes very difficult to suppress. While most men are subjected to this kind of problems only after the age of 60 it is known that women become prone to this disorder after the age of 40.

While this can also lead to isolation from the society due to the feeling of inferiority or embarrassment, the excessive loss of liquid in the form of urine is also not good for the physical body.

 

This can also lead to a constant disturbance during sleep as the patient feels the sudden urge to urinate even in the middle of the night.
One of the major causes of such a malfunction is the abnormal contraction of the bladder muscles as they tend to pass out the urine even before the urinary bladder is half filled. Various other related causes include an infection in the tract, consuming too much of alcohol or coffee, occurrence of tumors in the bladder etc.

 

Though it is considered to be a sign of abnormality it can also be said to be the sign of aging as such problem are bound to happen once you start growing older. The right time to consult a medical expert is when the high frequency of urination disrupts your regular work schedule and affects your lifestyle to a greater extent. However it is advisable that you get it diagnosed at the right time as it can be accompanied by bladder infections or tumor.
