Recent studies have put the enormous success of drugs such as Viagra on the
back foot. These studies show that these drugs can cause serious side effects
in the long run such as heart stroke, nose bleeding and even optic nerve
damage. However reviews based on studies conducted by Ernst R. Schwarz from the
Cedars-Sinai Medical centre suggest otherwise. These studies indicate that
sexual performance drugs such as PDE-5 drugs like Cialis, Viagra and Levitra help
to provide beneficial effects in addition to erectile dysfunction. These
findings can be checked out in the International
Journal of Impotence Research.
The researchers found out that there were slight differences in the
composition and performance. However these medications had many properties in
common as all of them restricted the activity of enzyme phosphodiesterase-5
which is found in the blood vessels and tissues surrounding the penis.
Restricted activity of the enzyme actually results in increased levels of
nitric oxide and biochemicals that help in muscle relaxation and increase on
blood flow in the erectile tissue of the penis.
Studies indicate that the PDE-5 inhibitors have been effective in treating
erectile dysfunction to a considerable extent. These drugs have been beneficial
even for patients suffering from diabetes and old age. Old age often leads to
reduced blood flow in the arteries of the heart leading to cardiovascular
disease. PDE-5 inhibitors were originally used for treating heart disorders
such as chest pain and even angina.
There were lawsuits filed last year against medications like Viagra as they
were suspected of damaging the optic nerve leading to partial and complete loss
of site. However studies which were conducted on nearly 13,000 men suggested
that factors (such as old age) other than inhibitors were responsible for
visual disorder. There was no increased incidence of optic nerve damage found
in people who took inhibitors. Researchers even proved that stroke was not caused
by inhibitors. The report suggests that though PDE-5 exists in the arteries and
tissues of the brain, drugs such as Sildenafil do not dilate the arteries which
can hamper blood flow. As a result there are no increased chances of hemorrhage
or stroke.
Researchers are positive for erectile medications as they feel that PDE-5
inhibitors are very effective and can be well tolerated by patients. They have
evidence to show that these drugs are not used to their full potential. However
these drugs can be used for treating a variety of non erectile disorders as
well.

"Euro Extender has saved me from life-long shame of my penis. I never trusted these types of products, but a friend of mine recommended it and it has been nothing but bliss ever since. I have recently added another bar and at the rate I’m going I will need a new one pretty soon. Wow! Best regards, M. Kasoflatos "
